The first time I tried a simple RPi program (takeoff, hover and land), the drone just shot up in the air, out of sight so I was convinced I lost it, but then after a minute it just came back and landed (it was an altitude calibration issue). We had lots of fun with the Little Tikes Drone and we found it a very good introduction into the world of drones and drone flying.

I was hopeful when I opened drone, and first couple of flys were OK, but not as easy as instructions suggested.

Some mention it is easy to charge, robust, and highly recommended, while others say that it simply awful and not worth the money. But I would not agree to this part: "obstacle avoidance (a big thing, that major companies seem to be "avoiding" to implement), remote-less object tracking, computer vision" because Dji 4 has all of these, and they just launched Dji 4 pro which has, even more improvements. When flying the drone the children did crash it into the walls and doors and it withheld those bumps and bangs without any issues. The autopilot is a small computer that controls the basic operations of the drone (stabilizing, guided movements, GPS tracking, etc).

And this is not just about follow-me or planned paths (that many commercial drones do), but deliveries, obstacle avoidance (a big thing, that major companies seem to be "avoiding" to implement), remote-less object tracking, computer vision and more. Secure all the screws very tight in the main part of the frame, maybe using Loctite or another screw glue. They mention that the construction is quite fragile, the propellers are very flimsy and the stabilizer has broken off. Most of the problems in other reviews sound like they had not fully charged the drone, we made this mistake on our second go ( need to plug together.After that it got worse until it became useless, with it being very difficult to control height, it just dropping to floor, and instead of taking off, just flying fast sideways and crashing. Check the screws every now and then (the ones that you didn't secure, for the more frequently detachable parts), and the propeller screws every time!
