Allergies can often cause excessive tearing, and using Ocryl daily to wipe around your pets face (particularly after any walks) can help to wipe away some of these allergens. Ocryl is gentle enough to use both in and around the eyes. Wiping the allergens away before they can cause any excessive tearing will therefore help prevent any staining building up. Maintenance process:Clean hair around eyes1 to 2 times weekly by gently rubbing the affected areausing a cotton ball or gauze compress soaked inOcryl. Many people will know how awful it feels to suffer with hayfever and how unbearable the spring and summer months can be. Hayfever in people is characterised by a runny nose, sneezing, itchiness – nose, throat and eyes. It can spoil your time outdoors and, if you have noticed any of these symptoms in your furry companion, then it is possible that they are suffering with hayfever too. Use Ocryl to clean around the eyes and face to breakdown any current staining and prevent it from building up again. Make this part of a routine to stop tear stains from developing. In most cases tear staining is largely a cosmetic problem and your pet will lead an otherwise normal life, however some patients with tears stains may have underlying eye problems which mean they overproduce tears due to ocular irritation. These tears can then spill over onto the face resulting in tear staining. It is important to ensure underlying reasons for tear staining have been ruled out by a vet as, if ignored, the underlying problem may progress and be harder to treat.

Ocryl can be administered directly into the eye: gently apply a few drops directly onto each eye and use a cotton ball or gauze compress to gently wipe away any residue.
